Abstract: Early Childhood Education plays a fundamental role in children's integral development, promoting experiences that contribute to cognitive, motor, social, emotional, and cultural growth. In this context, unwalling (desemparedamento) emerges as a pedagogical approach that seeks to expand educational spaces beyond classroom walls, valuing direct contact with nature and outdoor environments as essential elements of the learning process. This article aims to analyze the contributions of unwalling in Early Childhood Education, highlighting the benefits of contact with nature for child development. This study is a bibliographic review with a qualitative and exploratory approach, based on books, scientific articles, official documents, and academic publications addressing the relationship between childhood, nature, and education. The theoretical framework is primarily grounded in the contributions of Léa Tiriba, Maria Isabel Amando de Barros, Vygotsky, Wallon, Piaget, Larrosa, and Richard Louv, as well as official Brazilian educational documents such as the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the National Curriculum Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (DCNEI). The findings indicate that experiences carried out in outdoor environments and in contact with natural elements promote motor development, stimulate creativity, strengthen autonomy, enhance social interactions, and significantly contribute to children's mental health and well-being. It is concluded that unwalling represents an important pedagogical strategy for fostering meaningful learning, strengthening children's bonds with nature, and contributing to a more humanized, sensitive, and comprehensive educational process aligned with the needs of contemporary childhood.
