• Abstract:

  This article analyzes the direct influence that emotions can have on the active participation of citizens in politics because of the repetitive mistakes of government, the main problem is feelings of powerlessness and helplessness/hopelessness; seeking to highlight the important role of emotional management to promote functional participation in political situations. To achieve this, the application of a specific questionnaire was carried out virtually with a total of 122 evaluated within the province of Santo Domingo, with the purpose of identifying the levels of such feelings to address how to overcome impotence and manage emotions. Based on the results obtained in this research, was identified the role of emotional management in social movements, and the importance of emotions around political struggle, therefore, a list of the main recommended strategies for emotional management was drawn up.
