Abstract: This study proposed the pharmacotechnical development of four creamy oil-in-water emulsions, based on a standardized dry extract of Curcuma Longa L. varying in concentrations and types of self-emulsifying bases. The samples were characterized regarding appearance, color, odor, tactile sensation, pH, homogeneity and spreadability. The research also aimed to present in a simple and didactic way a review of pharmacotechnical concepts about creamy emulsions formulated with vegetable inputs, as well as data on the physicochemical properties of curcuminoids and which can be impacted depending on the pH of the medium, formula composition and type of packaging selected for packaging.
