DESAFÍOS EN LA CONSTRUCCIÓN DE UNA TEOLOGÍA VETEROTESTAMENTARIA: BREVE EVALUACIÓN Y CONTRIBUCIONES
El Antiguo Testamento contiene los fundamentos de la fe judeo-cristiana. En él se encuentran los orígenes y el sustrato más elemental de la Teología, de modo que todo pensar y hacer teológicos pasan obligatoriamente por las Escrituras veterotestamentarias. Sin embargo, la lectura y la interpretación del Antiguo Testamento no están exentas de obstáculos, los cuales, si se consideran de manera adecuada y se afrontan cuidadosamente, pueden ser superados, de tal forma que no representen un estorbo a la labor teológica. Este ensayo discurre sobre tres de los principales desafíos relacionados a la elaboración de una teología del Antiguo Testamento: el canon veterotestamentario y su relación con el Nuevo Testamento; la variación literaria y temática en el Antiguo Testamento; y la naturaleza descriptiva/prescriptiva de los escritos veterotestamentarios. Después de una breve reflexión sobre cada uno de estos puntos, se señalan principios que pueden resultar útiles en la tarea de extraer teología de las páginas de las Escrituras hebreas.

Abstract:
The Old Testament contains the foundations of the Judeo-Christian faith. In it are found the origins and the most elementary substratum of Theology, so that all theological thinking and doing necessarily pass through the Old Testament Scriptures. However, reading and interpreting the Old Testament are not free from obstacles, which, if properly considered and carefully addressed, can be overcome so that they do not hinder theological endeavor. This essay discusses three of the main challenges related to the development of an Old Testament theology: the Old Testament canon and its relationship with the New Testament; literary and thematic variation in the Old Testament; and the descriptive/prescriptive nature of the Old Testament writings. After a brief reflection on each of these points, principles are pointed out that can be useful in the task of extracting theology from the pages of the Hebrew Scriptures.
