DESAFIOS E PERSPECTIVAS NO TRANSPORTE DE INSUMOS AGRÍCOLAS: A LOGÍSTICA DE FERTILIZANTES EM GRANDES DISTÂNCIAS

A agricultura é um dos pilares da economia brasileira, impulsionando significativamente o PIB do país. Nesse cenário, os fertilizantes são essenciais para garantir a produtividade e qualidade das lavouras, fornecendo os nutrientes indispensáveis para o desenvolvimento das culturas. No entanto, a forte dependência da importação desses insumos e as longas distâncias entre os portos e os polos agrícolas impõem desafios relevantes à logística de transporte no Brasil. A infraestrutura limitada, os elevados custos operacionais e os impactos ambientais agravam esse quadro, tornando necessário um olhar estratégico sobre a logística de fertilizantes. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar os principais desafios e oportunidades na logística de fertilizantes no Brasil, destacando os problemas estruturais, os custos envolvidos e as inovações possíveis para melhorar o escoamento desses insumos. O problema central está na busca por maior eficiência logística para reduzir as vulnerabilidades provocadas pela dependência externa e pelas limitações da malha de transporte, fortalecendo a competitividade do agronegócio nacional. A metodologia adotada baseia-se em revisão bibliográfica, utilizando artigos científicos, relatórios técnicos e documentos oficiais sobre infraestrutura logística e transporte de fertilizantes. Conclui-se que a superação dos gargalos logísticos e a integração eficiente entre diferentes modais de transporte, como rodovias, ferrovias e hidrovias, são fundamentais para melhorar a eficiência e sustentabilidade do setor. Investimentos em corredores estratégicos, como o Arco Norte, além do uso de tecnologias para agilizar a distribuição, representam oportunidades promissoras para consolidar o Brasil como potência agrícola global, promovendo desenvolvimento econômico sustentável.

  • Abstract: Agriculture is one of the pillars of the Brazilian economy, significantly boosting the country's GDP. In this context, fertilizers are essential to ensure crop productivity and quality, providing the necessary nutrients for plant development. However, the country's heavy dependence on fertilizer imports and the long distances between ports and agricultural hubs pose major challenges to transportation logistics in Brazil. Limited infrastructure, high operational costs, and environmental impacts worsen this scenario, making it necessary to adopt a strategic approach to fertilizer logistics. This study aims to analyze the main challenges and opportunities in Brazil's fertilizer logistics, highlighting structural problems, associated costs, and possible innovations to improve the flow of these inputs. The central issue lies in the pursuit of greater logistical efficiency to reduce vulnerabilities caused by external dependence and the limitations of the current transport network, thus strengthening the competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness. The methodology is based on a literature review, using scientific articles, technical reports, and official documents on logistical infrastructure and fertilizer transportation. It concludes that overcoming logistical bottlenecks and efficiently integrating different transportation modes—such as highways, railways, and waterways—is essential to enhance the sector's efficiency and sustainability. Investments in strategic corridors, such as the Northern Arc (Arco Norte), along with the use of technologies to streamline distribution, represent promising opportunities to consolidate Brazil as a global agricultural power while promoting sustainable economic development.
