Abstract: The article addresses challenges and strategies in preventing neonatal infections by Group B Streptococcus (GBS) and neonatal sepsis. It highlights vertical transmission as the main route of infection, the efficacy of intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis, and the importance of vaccination. A total of 794 articles were analyzed in databases, selecting 32 studies from the last 10 years, following inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 18 articles for analysis. It points out variations in the implementation of guidelines between countries and limitations in the culture for GBS screening. The article discusses vaccination as a promising preventive measure but facing challenges in global development and implementation. It emphasizes neonatal sepsis as a major cause of morbidity and mortality, highlighting the importance of early identification and proper treatment. The conclusion stresses the need for integrated approaches, including screening, prophylaxis, vaccination, and education, and collaboration between healthcare professionals and organizations to improve neonatal outcomes worldwide..
