Abstract: INTRODUCTION: The multidisciplinary team must be well trained and ready to deal with obstetrics-related incidents. There are many challenges, including: The lack of training, materials, factors that prevent quick transport to the hospital and the reduced number of staff affect the entire assistance. OBJECTIVE: To identify the main difficulties faced by the pre-hospital care team focused on obstetric emergencies. METHODOLOGY: In the initial search, 10 studies related to the descriptors were found, after applying the exclusion criteria: last five years and language, the number was reduced to 2 documents. RESULT: Among the most common challenges in occurrences, places with difficult access are the most common, followed by the lack of trained professionals in emergency and obstetrics, and the absence of prenatal care. CONCLUSION: As a result, it was found that a qualified team, use of differential equipment and fast and effective transportation make all the difference in the prognosis of the pregnant woman and fetus.
