Abstract: This article analyzes the challenges of LAM's internationalization. The specific objectives are: conceptualizing internationalization, describing the forms of internationalization, identifying the barriers to the internationalization of LAM. Methodologically, a bibliographical review was adopted, through a survey of articles and books that address the topic, systematizing the information and analysis. The results reveal that, firstly, at an international level, African companies are still not welcome. Additionally, one of the main reasons is inadequate or lack of qualifications (knowledge, training, licenses, etc.). But the main reason is the lack of acceptance of aviation as a priority by African Governments. With this, the weak openness of European, American and Asian countries, which doubt the technical capacity and conditions of aircraft from African countries, as in the case of LAM, which was listed as a company not welcome in European aerospace. One of the obstacles to LAM's internationalization is linked to the low availability of aircraft suitable for the intended routes. As a result, LAM is unable to guarantee internationalization. Given LAM's small fleet, it is overshadowed by companies that dominate the market, which means it has difficulty establishing itself in the international market. Unlike Ethiopia airlines, it has some advantage in the context of managing this aspect. LAM, like some Mozambican public companies, has great weaknesses due to government dependence, which ends up hindering and hindering its capacity for innovation and expansion. Therefore, LAM's acceptance in the international arena would depend on the company's ability to adapt to technological changes and more dynamic management that promotes innovation.
