Abstract: The theme of this paper is teacher training and the objective was to analyze the (mis)paths of teacher training from colonial Brazil, through the dictatorial years, to the current democratic period, in which the teaching profession resists and remains in the field of social struggles. It is a bibliographical research, centered on authors who deal with the topic such as Saviani (2005, 2011, 2013) Gatti (2010;2019) Tanuri (2000), among others. The analyzes reveal that the paths taken for teacher training have always been crossed by conflicting policies and therefore, it is possible to name (mis)paths, since it is understood as a process that is mismatched, and which does not yet correspond to training for a transformative praxis. and socially referenced.
