DENGUE UM PROBLEMA DE SAÚDE PÚBLICA NO BRASIL
Introdução: O vírus da dengue
é um arbovírus da família Flaviviridae, do
gênero Flavivirus. É um vírus transmitido pelo
o mosquito Aedes aegypti, que foi identificado
no brasil por testes sorológicos pela a primeira
vez na década de 80. Objetivo: Descrever a situação do vírus da dengue no Brasil.
Metodologia: Trata-se de trabalho de revisão da literatura. Foram utilizadas como fonte
para obtenção dos artigos a base de dados da BVS (Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde) a
partir das seguintes palavras-chave: Mosquito Aedes aegypti, Tratamento/Diagnostico,
Prevenção da dengue, dengue/diagnóstico, tratamento prevenção. Resultados e
Discussão: O dengue originou-se em 1762, com identificação sorológica no Brasil
pela a primeira vez na década de 80. Os primeiros relatos de dengue no brasil, foi no
final do século XIX, em Curitiba (PR), e no início do XX, em Niterói (RJ). O mosquito
Aedes Aegypti já era um problema no século XX, mas não devido a dengue, e sim
por causa da febre amarela, mas Aedes Aegypti foi erradicado no brasil em 1995,
por medidas de controle contra a febre amarela. Devido ao relaxamento das medidas
adotadas, teve-se o início da reintrodução do vetor em 1960 em território nacional.
Hoje, o mosquito Aedes Aegypti é encontrado em todos os estados brasileiros, no qual
se torna um problema de saúde pública. Conclusão: São importante a educação e
a consciência da população para que se evite a proliferação do vetor, pois, só assim
pode-se diminuir e até mesmo erradicar o vírus.

Abstract:
Introduction: the dengue virus is an arbovirus of the Flaviviridae family,
of the Flavivirus. It is a virus transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which was
identified in Brazil by serologic tests for the first time in the decade of 80. Objective:
To describe the situation of the dengue virus in Brazil. Methodology: This is a work of
literature review. They were used as a source for obtaining the articles the database
BVS (Virtual Health Library) from the following keywords: Aedes aegypti mosquito,
Treatment/diagnosis, prevention of dengue, dengue/diagnosis, treatment, prevention.
Results and Discussion: The dengue originated in 1762, with serological identification
in Brazil for the first time in the decade of 80. The first reports of dengue in Brazil, it
was at the end of the 19th century, in Curitiba (PR), and at the beginning of the 20th
century, in Niterói (RJ). The mosquito Aedes aegypti was already a problem in the 20th
century, but not due to dengue, and yes because of yellow fever, but Aedes aegypti
was eradicated in Brazil in 1995, for control measures against yellow fever. Due to the
relaxation of the measures adopted, had become the beginning of the reintroduction of
the vector in 1960 in the national territory. Today, the mosquito Aedes aegypti is found
in all Brazilian states, in which it becomes a public health problem. Conclusion: It is
important to education and awareness of the population in order to avoid the proliferation
of vector, because only in this way can be used to reduce and even eradicate the virus.
