DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO CIENTÍFICO: A EXPERIÊNCIA DO PROJETO “SABERES DA MATA ATLÂNTICA”
A socialização das pesquisas produzidas no âmbito das universidades visa diminuir a distância entre a produção dos conhecimentos científicos e a população. No entanto, a busca pelo modelo ideal e a conquista de espaços de divulgação científica para o grande público, ainda é um desafio na complexa relação entre ciência e sociedade. O presente trabalho discute as iniciativas e os impactos alcançados pela proposta de popularização da ciência do projeto “Saberes da Mata Atlântica”, desenvolvido pelo grupo de pesquisa BIOPROS, da Universidade Federal de Viçosa. Atuando de forma itinerante, o projeto atendeu estudantes do ensino fundamental e médio de sete cidades do entorno do Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro, região da zona da Mata Mineira, entre novembro de 2017 e agosto de 2019. As reflexões foram apresentadas de acordo com os pressupostos de Sartre sobre a fenomenologia e tiveram como base as percepções da equipe a partir da interação com os estudantes e professores das escolas atendidas. A proposta propiciou, além da popularização do conhecimento científico, a (re)descoberta de peculiaridades sobre o bioma Mata Atlântica e os saberes tradicionais associados, contribuindo para a ampliação da percepção ambiental e ressignificação da relação dos estudantes com a natureza.

Abstract:
The socialization of research produced in the scope of universities aims to reduce the distance between the production of scientific knowledge and the population. However, the search for the ideal model and the conquest of spaces for scientific dissemination to the general public, is still a challenge in the complex relationship between science and society. This paper discusses the initiatives and impacts achieved by the proposal to popularize the science of the “Knowledge of the Atlantic Forest” project, developed by the research group BIOPROS, from the Federal University of Viçosa. Acting on an itinerant basis, the project served elementary and high school students from seven cities around the Serra do Brigadeiro State Park, a region in the Mata Mineira area, between November 2017 and August 2019. The reflections were presented according to Sartre's assumptions about phenomenology and were based on the team's perceptions based on the interaction with students and teachers from the schools served. The proposal provided, in addition to the popularization of scientific knowledge, the rediscovery of peculiarities about the Atlantic Forest biome and the associated traditional knowledge, contributing to the expansion of environmental perception and reframing of students' relationship with nature.
