DEMOCRACIA E REBELDIA POPULAR NO BRASIL CONTEMPORANEO
Na contramão da mídia que retrata
o Brasil como um país à beira do abismo, busco
mostrar as alternativas de resistência das
forças populares que se organizam para lutar
por direitos e reafirmam seu compromisso com
a democracia. A burguesia aliada à oposição
conservadora no congresso tenta atacar as
parcas conquistas das classes trabalhadoras,
mediante um golpe constitucional contra a
Presidenta, cujo mandato foi legitimado pelas
urnas. Vivemos um momento de tensões
ideológicas rico em possibilidades de ampliar
a participação política, a distribuição de renda
e a soberania nacional. O Brasil é peça-chave
na integração sul-americana, a qual contraria
interesses das grandes potências e suas
corporações. Está em jogo o futuro dos povos
do Continente.

Abstract:
In contrast to the media portrayal
of Brazil as a country on the brink of the abyss, I
try to show the resistance opportunities of those
social movements organized to defend rights
and to reaffirm their commitment to democracy.
The bourgeoisie allied with the Congressional
conservative faction is attempting to attack the
few working class gains through a constitutional
coup d’état against the President whose
mandate was legitimized at the polls. We,
Brazilians, are living through an ideological
struggle rich in possibilities for increasing
popular political participation, for the distribution
of wealth and national sovereignty. Brazil is the
key to a South American integration that differs
from the interests of the Great Powers and
their corporations. At play is the future of the
Continent’s population.
