DELGADO DE CARVALHO E THEREZINHA DE CASTRO: DA NECESSIDADE DA GEOPOLÍTICA NO ENSINO DE GEOGRAFIA (VERSÃO AMPLIADA)
O presente texto discute a importância dos nomes de Delgado de Carvalho e Therezinha de Castro na aproximação entre a geopolítica e a geografia escolar brasileira. A retomada da obra desses autores, principalmente os trabalhos que tiveram como objeto a valorização da discussão sobre geopolítica, possibilita a reflexão sobre o alcance da geopolítica nos dias atuais, devido ao aprofundamento dos conflitos entre Estados, do comércio internacional e nacional, das questões envolvendo o direito internacional e nacional, da distribuição dos recursos naturais, das questões climáticas, dentre outros. Esses e outros aspectos têm implicações diretas no cotidiano das pessoas. No transcorrer da pesquisa, verificou-se que as legislações concernentes à regulamentação da educação básica no Brasil, apontavam e ainda apontam de maneira tênue para a necessidade de aproximação entre a geografia escolar e a geopolítica. Os referenciais teóricos pesquisados, reforçaram a necessidade de discussão acerca dessa importante lacuna da geografia escolar brasileira em seu processo de contribuição para a formação do cidadão crítico, capacitado para intervir na realidade. O resultado alcançado pela presente discussão foi a identificação da necessidade do desenvolvimento de estratégias que capacitem os professores de Geografia a trabalharem na direção de uma alfabetização geopolítica.

Abstract:
This text discusses the importance of the names of Delgado de Carvalho and Therezinha de Castro in bringing together geopolitics and Brazilian school geography. The resumption of the work of these authors, especially the works that had as their object the appreciation of the discussion on geopolitics, allows for reflection on the scope of geopolitics today, due to the deepening of conflicts between States, international and national trade, and issues involving international and national law, the distribution of natural resources, climate issues, among others. These and other aspects have direct implications for people's daily lives. In the course of the research, it was found that the legislation concerning the regulation of basic education in Brazil, pointed and still point in a tenuous way to the need for approximation between school geography and geopolitics. The researched theoretical references reinforced the need for discussion about this important gap in Brazilian school geography in its process of contribution to the formation of critical citizens, capable of intervening in reality. The result achieved by this discussion was the identification of the need to develop strategies that enable Geography teachers to work towards geopolitical literacy.
