Abstract: Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of respiratory diseases in children. This study examined the relationship between hypovitaminosis D and childhood respiratory issues, considering supplementation as a preventive and therapeutic strategy. The results indicate that low vitamin D levels areassociated with a higher incidence of asthma, pneumonia, and acute respiratory infections. Maternal and infant supplementation showed benefits in reducing hospitalizations and improving lung function. It is concluded that vitamin D supplementation can be an effectiveapproach to minimizing the impact of respiratory diseases in childhood.
