DEFENSORIA PÚBLICA COMO A GUARDIÃ DOS ENCLAUSURADOS HIPOSSUFICIENTES
A Defensoria Pública é Instituição permanente, democrática, que possui função essencial à justiça conforme preconiza o art. 134 do pergaminho constitucional, incumbida de prestar assistência jurídica aos necessitados, além de promover transformações de ordem social. O presente artigo demonstra um breve histórico sobre instituição, a relevância do papel da Defensoria Pública, o conceito de justiça e seu acesso, bem como a Defensoria Pública no exercício do acesso à justiça. Por fim, é tratado o panorama atual da assistência jurídica integral e gratuita no Brasil em contraposto a inexistência desta instituição.

Abstract:
The Public Defender's Office is a permanent, democratic institution that has an essential function for justice under article 134, which is responsible for providing legal assistance to those in need, as well as promoting social changes. This article shows a brief history of the Institution, the relevance of the Public Defender's role, the concept of justice and its access, as well as the Public Defender's Office in the exercise of access to justice. Finally, the current scenario of free and full legal assistance in Brazil is treated as opposed to the lack of this institution.
