Abstract: The objective was to analyze the reality regarding discussions and perceptions about ethnic-racial issues and racism among workers and future workers of the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), highlighting the difficulties and challenges of applying these debates in academic and occupational environments. An integrative review was conducted using the databases PubMed, BVS, CAPES Journals, and the ABPN Journal to select 14 articles. It was observed that the ethnic-racial issue is rooted in the foundations of social, individual, public, and private neglect that permeates the professional training of workers and future workers, regardless of their area of expertise. The study showed that ethnic-racial issues, associated with social and institutional neglect, have a significant impact on the training and practice of workers and future workers of the SUS.
