DAS VANGUARDAS À GLOBALIZAÇÃO: A ARTE LATINO-AMERICANA E A BUSCA POR IDENTIDADE
O artigo discute de modo ensaístico a questão da identidade latino-americana, destacando a dialética entre o próprio e o alheio, o local e o global, o nacional e o internacional na arte, e seus limites para o pensamento da conjuntura das sociedades contemporâneas latino-americanas. Utilizando-se do arcabouço teórico de intelectuais como José Martí, José Carlos Mariátegui e Jorge Luis Borges analisa a construção do ideário do “ser latinoamericano” como uma pretensão de abarcar culturas diversas, em busca da unidade na diferença.

Abstract:
The article discusses in an essayistic way the question of Latin American identity and highlights the dialectic between the self and the other, the local and the global, the national and the international in art, and its limits for the thinking of the conjuncture of contemporary Latin American societies. . It uses the theoretical framework of intellectuals such as José Martí, José Carlos Mariátegui and Jorge Luis Borges and analyzes the construction of the ideology of “being Latin American” as an intention to embrace different cultures, in search of unity in difference.
