DANOS AO MEIO FÍSICO NA URBANIZAÇÃO DE SANTARÉM-PA: ESTUDO DE CASO NO BAIRRO SANTARENZINHO
O crescimento desordenado na
área urbana de Santarém gerou grandes
impactos observados, principalmente no bairro
de Santarenzinho. A ocupação desordenada
foi responsável por grandes necessidades
de material classe II para emprego nessas
construções. A Serra do Índio, no bairro do
Santarenzinho, por muito tempo forneceu uma
grande quantidade de insumos para as obras de
moradia e infraestrutura do município Santarém-
PA, chegando à ordem de 14.000m3 de material
retirado em doze anos. A retirada sem critérios
técnicos acentuou processos erosivos na área.
Ação da água meteórica agravou ainda mais
a situação, pois gerou erosão do tipo laminar,
uma vez que, a serra não apresenta cobertura
vegetal. O igarapé do Irurá, curso d’água que
corta o bairro, é fortemente afetado pelo grande
volume de sedimentos transportados pelas
enxurradas e está parcialmente assoreado.
A falta de controle urbanístico e o grande
crescimento demográfico, aliados a falta de
conhecimento técnico foram fatores importantes
para gerar os impactos observados no bairro do
Santarenzinho.

Abstract:
The disorderly growth in the
urban area of Santarem generated main
impacts observed, especially in Santarenzinho
neighborhood. The disorderly occupation
was responsible for more class II material
in the building. Indian Hill, Santarenzinho
neighborhood, for long time provided a
lot of inputs for housing construction and
infrastructure Santarém-PA city, reaching the
order of 14.000m3 of material removed in twelve
years. Removal of materials without technical
accentuated erosion in the area. Actions of the
meteoric water aggravated still more situation
as generated erosion of the laminar type, since
the saw was without vegetation coverage. The
Irurá River cuts through the neighborhood,
is strongly affected by the large volume of
sediment transported by the floods and is silted
partially. The urban control lack and the great growth of the population, coupled with
lack of technical knowledge were important factors in generating the impacts observed
in Santarenzinho the neighborhood.
