DA RELAÇÃO ENTRE OS NEGROS E A IGREJA NO BRASIL.

A escravidão negra em âmbito brasileiro decorreu em um período de quadro séculos, embora perceba-se grandes avanças de lutas contra os preconceitos, ainda são identificados fatos de permanência do racismo. A instituição do dia nacional da consciência negra, 20 de novembro, exemplifica uma das conquistas do povo negro, visto que implica na indagação por parte da sociedade sobre história, e quais as causas que ocasionaram a perpetração deste evento nefasto por um período considerável de tempo. A participação da igreja na coibição e aceitação da escravidão de seres humanos com o intuito de obtenção de lucro é objeto deste artigo, pois é de fundamental importância analisar qual a influência e participação da Igreja católica no processo de escravidão negra brasileira, não somente na implantação, mas entender quais motivos conduziram a sua manutenção e fortalecimento deste sistema de mão-de-obra no país. Concomitantemente, utiliza-se deste artifício para identificar qual ponto a religião poderia ser utilizada como justificativa para desencadear a situação, não havendo intenções de julgar as ações, mas realizar a observação de alguns fatos ocorridos a partir do relato de pesquisadores sobre a temática, em repositórios de pesquisas acadêmicas e livros.

  • Abstract: Black slavery in Brazil took place over a period of four centuries, although there are great advances in struggles against prejudice, facts of permanence of racism are still identified. The institution of the national day of black conscience, November 20, exemplifies one of the achievements of the black people, since it implies the question by society about history, and what are the causes that caused the perpetration of this nefarious event for a considerable period of time, emphasizing the participation of the church in restraining and accepting the slavery of human beings in order to obtain a profit. It is of fundamental importance to analyze the influence of the participation of the Catholic Church in the Brazilian black slavery process, not only of the implantation, but of the reasons that led to its maintenance and strengthening of this labor system in the country. Concomitantly, this artifice is used to identify which point religion could be used as a justification to trigger the situation, with no intention of judging the actions but rather, observing some facts that occurred from the report of researchers on the theme, in academic repositories and books.
