DA LÍNGUA AMEAÇADA ÀS POLÍTICAS DE FORTALECIMENTO: ASPECTOS DA SITUAÇÃO SOCIOLINGUÍSTICA DOS ASURINI DO XINGU
Neste artigo, através de uma pesquisa-ação colaborativa (ZEICHNER, 2002), buscamos o entendimento de traços do atual contexto sociocultural e linguístico do povo Awaeté Asurini, discutidos através das percepções da comunidade escolar Asurini em relação aos usos, atitudes e domínio das línguas pela comunidade de fala. Para um melhor entendimento da situação, apresentamos dados sobre o domínio das línguas, coletados a partir de questionários estruturados e entrevistas complementares que abarcaram as variáveis sociolinguísticas “habilidade” e “faixa etária”. Os dados obtidos demonstraram uma quebra na passagem da língua indígena para as novas gerações e o predomínio do português. Tais dados, refletidos juntamente à comunidade, subsidiaram políticas linguísticas e educacionais na TI Koatinemo para o fortalecimento da língua ancestral do povo Asurini.

Abstract:
In this article, through a collaborative action research (ZEICHNER, 2002), we aim to understand the traits of the current socio-cultural and linguistic context of the Awaeté Asurini people, discussed through the perceptions of the Asurini school community in relation to the uses, attitudes and mastery of languages by the speaking community. For a better understanding of the situation, we present data on the mastery of languages, collected from structured questionnaires and complementary interviews that covered the sociolinguistic variables "skill" and "age group". The data obtained showed a break in the passage of the indigenous language to the new generations and the predominance of Portuguese. Such data, reflected together with the community, subsidized linguistic and educational policies in the TI Koatinemo for the strengthening of the ancestral language of the Asurini people.
