Da feitura do Dasein neoliberal: Análise semiótica do discurso do herói de Infinite Jest, de David Foster Wallace
O trabalho de pesquisa aqui proposto intenta mapear, pelo quadro teórico semiótico e morfolexical (GREIMAS, 1973; GREIMAS & COURTÉS, 1979; ULLMANN, 1964), os mais expressivos neologismos componentes do discurso idioletal do herói (LUCKÁCS, 2007) do romance Infinite Jest (1996), escrito pelo norte-americano David Foster Wallace. Ulteriormente, verificar qual a relação desse discurso com a construção filosófica da subjetividade contemporânea, no momento em que a tessitura da obra está circunscrita, não a reduzindo ao contexto socio-histórico, mas entendendo os dois como interdependentes, levando como paralelo os estudos estético-filosóficos de Moretti (2013) acerca do herói romanesco e os ensaios de Wallace sobre a subjetividade pós-moderna. Pela compreensão da materialidade semântica do discurso do herói da obra, lograr-se-á compreender por quais vias discursivas se constrói a subjetividade e a intersubjetividade do sujeito contemporâneo.

Abstract:
The research essay proposed here have the intente to map the most expressive neologisms constitutive of the hero’s discourse (LUCKÁCS, 2007) in David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest (1996) through the Semiotic frame (GREIMAS, 1973; GREIMAS & COURTÉS, 1979; ULLMANN, 1964). Ulteriorly, it aims at the verification of this discourse’s relationship with the philosophical construction of contemporary subjectivity, at the moment to which the novel is circumscribed, not reducing it to the social and historical contexto but understanding both as interdependente, taking as parallel the aesthetic-philosphical studies of Moretti (2013) regarding the novelistic hero and Wallace’s essas about the post-modern subjectivity. Through the comprehension of the semantic materiality of the novel’s hero’s discourse, the comprehension of which discoursive ways take place in the construction of subjectivity and intersubjecity of the contemporary subject will be reached.
