Abstract: This paper discusses the implementation of the curricular supervision internship in the Librarianship course offered via distance learning at Universidade Federal Fluminense. It presents a brief review of the literature to identify the main legal frameworks that regulate the profession and the training guidelines for librarians. Analyzing the design of the course in the distance learning modality, highlighting emerging and innovative proposals. It reports the experience of implementing the mandatory internship, emphasizing the interactions between teachers, students, internship fields and the virtual learning environment. The research, with a qualitative approach, describes as a case study, an examination of the Supervised Internship curricular component in the EAD Librarianship course at UFF. The results indicate that the pedagogical approaches adopted directly influence the development of internship activities, in addition to contributing to the reduction of dropout rates, a common challenge in subjects with practical workload. The potential of Virtual Learning Environments as tools to support collaborative learning is also highlighted, as long as they are fully explored.
