Abstract: Planning constitutes a didactic instrument and stage of educational practice that aims to systematize knowledge in favor of student learning. This work portrays a report on the experiences of PIBID Physical Education fellows from UFRRJ, carried out in a municipal school in Rio de Janeiro. It involves the development of a field tennis unit. The objective of the teaching unit was to promote the learning of elementary tennis techniques, as well as reflections on aspects related to gender, cultural plurality and the environment. To systematize the experience report, we resorted to action research, due to the inherent possibility of observation and reflection on the practices provided to interns within the scope of PIBID. Using partial, global and conditioned game methods, the teaching unit addressed the construction of rackets with alternative materials, reflections on tennis player Maria Esther Bueno, as well as the practice of a sport considered elitist and its unusual practice in peripheral communities, activities that allowed we problematize, respectively, knowledge related to the environment, gender equality, as well as content teaching practices. Finally, we reflect on the theoretical and practical articulation of the value of planning and systematizing actions to promote a fruitful teaching-learning environment.
