Abstract: This chapter describes a prototype called CuidArte Pro, developed to address the lack of socio-emotional preparation in initial teacher education a structural issue that impacts the well-being and professional identity of future teachers in Chile. In response to the lack of explicit institutional support and early emotional burnout, this study proposes an educational technology innovation in the form of a mobile app designed using the Design Thinking methodology. This tool, grounded in the competency-based educational model, seeks to strengthen students’ emotional awareness and regulation in real-world contexts. The app integrates strategic modules such as emotional tracking using Plutchik’s wheel, critical incident logs to foster situated pedagogical reflection, collaborative forums, and multimodal training resources. Finally, this project aims to provide relevant support, thereby contributing to the sustainability of teaching careers through the systematic development of essential social-emotional skills to significantly improve training processes, the quality of current teaching practice, and future retention in the profession.
