O mundo tem passado por um processo de mudança sociodemográfica, onde o
envelhecimento apresenta-se como um amplo desafio, com modificações no âmbito
econômico e social com isso, temos o aumento da expectativa de vida, o que traz
consequências para a saúde pública, consequentemente modificações na saúde e qualidade
de vida da população com idade mais avançada. Para tanto, temos os cuidados paliativos,
pois têm por princípios reafirmar a importância da vida, enfrentando a morte como um
processo natural, tendo a família um importante papel nesse processo. O presente estudo
teve como objetivo analisar os artigos publicados por enfermeiros, em língua portuguesa,
sobre os cuidados paliativos em idosos, no período de 2010 a 2020, sobre a temática
Cuidados Paliativos em Idosos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, a partir dos
descritores “Cuidados Paliativos”, “Enfermagem” e “Idoso”, selecionado 10 artigos nas bases
de pesquisa virtual Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Base de Dados de
Enfermagem (BDENF), Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde
(lilacs), indexadas à Biblioteca Regional de Medicina (BIREME). Os resultados adquiridos,
englobam a titulação de graduado, especialista, mestre e doutor, sendo que são titulados da
Revista Texto Contexto Enfermagem, Revista Cogitare Enfermagem, Revista de Pesquisa
Cuidado é Fundamental Online, Revista Eletrônica de Enfermagem, Revista Brasileira de
Enfermagem REBEN, Revista Geriatria Gerontologia. Referente as categorias é subdivida em
três, Categoria 1: o idoso e a família em tratamento paliativo, Categoria 2: o profissional diante
do tratamento paliativo e Categoria 3: produções bibliográficas. Cuidados Paliativos (CP) vem
para minimizar o sofrimento do paciente, com foco na qualidade e na dignidade da vida,
promovendo conforto e minimizando os sintomas desagradáveis, visando alívio do sofrimento
imposto pela doença. Este cuidado é oferecido para o paciente e para sua família. Que veio
para mostrar que o paliar não significa não fazer nada mais a este paciente. Entrar no
programa de cuidados paliativos não significa morrer mais rápido. CP significa que ainda
podemos trazer vida aos dias destes pacientes, através do controle impecável dos sintomas,
da proximidade da família que está ali cuidando dele, valorizando o indivíduo realizando seus
desejos sempre que possível. Pensando na reflexão acerca da proposta dos Cuidados
Paliativos é fundamental considerar a família como unidade de cuidado, o contexto dos
cuidadores familiares, ele é cercado de mudanças e desafios, seja no que tange as
dificuldades de sobrecarga no cuidado para com o idoso, seja na ausência de condições
socioeconômicas.

The world has gone through a process of sociodemographic change, where the aging presents itself as a broad challenge, with changes in the economic and social with this, we have an increase in life expectancy, which brings consequences for public health, consequently changes in health and quality of life of the elderly population. For that, we have palliative care, because their principles are to reaffirm the importance of life, facing death as a natural process, with the family having an important role in this process.
The present study aimed to analyze the articles published by nurses, in Portuguese, on palliative care for the elderly, from 2010 to 2020, on the theme Palliative Care for the Elderly. This is a bibliographical research, from the descriptors "Palliative Care", "Nursing" and "Elderly", selected 10 articles in the bases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) Virtual Search Engine Nursing (BDENF), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (lilacs), indexed to the Regional Medicine Library (BIREME). The results acquired, include the title of graduate, specialist, master and doctor, and they are titled from the Text Context Nursing Magazine, Cogitare Nursing Magazine, Research Magazine Care is Fundamental Online, Electronic Journal of Nursing, Brazilian Journal of REBEN Nursing, Revista Geriatria Gerontologia. Regarding the categories, it is subdivided into three, Category 1: the elderly and the family in palliative care, Category 2: the professional facing of palliative treatment and Category 3: bibliographical productions. Palliative Care (PC) comes to minimize patient suffering, focusing on the quality and dignity of life, promoting comfort and minimizing unpleasant symptoms, aiming at alleviating suffering imposed by the disease. This care is offered to the patient and his family. That came to show that palliating does not mean doing nothing more for this patient. enter the palliative care program does not mean dying faster. CP means that still we can bring life to these patients' days through impeccable symptom control, of the proximity of the family that is there taking care of him, valuing the individual carrying out his desires whenever possible. Thinking about the reflection about the Care proposal Palliative care, it is essential to consider the family as a care unit, the context of family caregivers, he is surrounded by changes and challenges, whether in terms of overload difficulties in caring for the elderly, either in the absence of conditions socioeconomic.
