Abstract: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has become the gold standard for the treatment of gallbladder diseases, providing shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and a lower incidence of complications compared to the open technique. Given the advancement of this procedure in the Brazilian context, the role of nursing in postoperative care stands out, especially regarding patient safety, complication control, and guidance for self-care. This study presents an integrative literature review on the main nursing care in the postoperative period of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, focusing on studies published between 2016 and 2025. The research was conducted in the Google Scholar database, including original articles, reviews, case studies, and clinical guidelines available for free access. The results showed that scientific production is still limited regarding the specific role of nursing in this context, with most studies addressing general complications of the procedure. Essential care highlighted includes monitoring vital signs, pain management, infection prevention, early mobilization, health education, and discharge instructions. The importance of systematic nursing care, use of protocols, and multiprofessional integration is emphasized to ensure quality of care. It is concluded that evidence-based nursing practice is important for therapeutic success, and there is a need to encourage scientific production that supports safe and standardized practices.
