Abstract: Objective: to analyze recent scientific articles on the topic of nursing care for children with disabilities, from the point of view of comprehensive care. Methodology: This is a bibliographical review with articles published between 2015-2020, in the Lilacs, Medline, Scopus and BDENF databases. Results: In total, 10 articles were read in full and analyzed descriptively, emerging two thematic categories: who to turn to? - experience with the reference nurse; and time and costs in care: broadening the look on family needs. Discussion: Health care includes treating, respecting, welcoming and caring for children with disabilities, as well as their families. Many nurses refer to the need for training and continuing education, as they feel psychologically and technically unprepared. Final considerations: For the continuity of health care, one of the possibilities is the reference nurse, carrying out their actions from the perspective of comprehensiveness, strengthening the bond with families and respecting their singularities.
