CORRIDA DE ORIENTAÇÃO: ESTUDO COMPARATIVO DOS MODELOS DE GOVERNANÇA CORPORATIVA NAS FEDERAÇÕES DE ADMINISTRAÇÃO DA MODALIDADE NO BRASIL
Este capítulo, apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa onde foram mapeados os modelos de governança praticados pelas em federações de administração da corrida de orientação no Brasil e a aplicação ou não por elas, das boas práticas de governança corporativa, constantes da quinta edição do Código das Melhores Práticas de Governança Corporativa, propostas pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa (IBGC). Por meio da análise da documentação econômico-administrativa, dos estatutos e atas disponibilizados nos sites das federações estudadas, buscou-se verificar a presença de características e ações que atendessem às práticas propostas, diagnosticando e recomendando ações para implementá-las. A literatura sugere que o uso desses conceitos pode se constituir em importante diferencial para as federações, na disputa por capital e outros recursos, pois contribuem para a profissionalização de suas gestões, além de fazer com que tendam a alcançar maior legitimidade perante seus stakeholders. Os resultados evidenciaram a quase inexistência de práticas de boa governança recomendadas pelo IBGC nas respectivas federações, apontando a necessidade de melhorias urgentes.

Abstract:
This chapter presents the results of a research in which the governance models practiced by the in management federations of the orientation race in Brazil and the application or not by them of good corporate governance practices were mapped, contained in the fifth edition of the Code of Best Practices of Corporate Governance, proposed by the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). Through the analysis of the economic and administrative documentation, the statutes and minutes available on the websites of the federations studied, we sought to verify the presence of characteristics and actions that met the proposed practices, diagnosing and recommending actions to implement them. The literature suggests that the use of these concepts may constitute an important differential for federations, in the dispute for capital and other resources, because they contribute to the professionalization of their managements, besides making them tend to achieve greater legitimacy before their stakeholders. The results showed the almost lack of good governance practices recommended by the IBGC in the respective federations, pointing out the need for urgent improvements.
