Abstract: This work evaluated the correlation between hardness and electrical conductivity of horizontally solidified Al-6201 alloy (Al-0.6%Mg-0.8%Si) subjected to T6 heat treatment, aiming at structural electrical applications. Horizontal directional solidification resulted in microstructural variations along the length of the ingot, directly reflecting the evaluated properties. With the application of T6 heat treatment, a significant increase in hardness was observed, with average values on the order of 87.33 HRF, representing an approximate increase of 51% compared to the untreated condition. The electrical conductivity, expressed as %IACS, showed an average value of 63.97% after T6, evidencing a moderate decrease associated with precipitation hardening. The correlation between Rockwell F hardness and electrical conductivity for the T6 condition was described by an empirical power-type model, σ%IACS = 0.49(HRF)1.09, with a coefficient of determination R2 ≈ 0.70, indicating a moderate positive relationship between these properties. The results confirm the influence of heat treatment and horizontal solidification on the mechanical and electrical response of the Al-6201 alloy, demonstrating its viability for structural electrical applications
