Abstract: This work consists of a study on the representation of the female body, focusing on the analysis of the short story "A mulher Ramada" (2000) by Marina Colasanti and the short film "Carne" (2019) by screenwriter Camila Kater. The languages present in these works promote the exploration of verbal and visual dimensions as a means to foster critical literacy. Our research is of a bibliographical nature and follows a qualitative approach with the purpose of providing a contribution through literary and cinematic analysis, encouraging a reflective perspective regarding otherness and respect for diversity. Marina Colasanti employs metaphors to represent aspects and characteristics of a woman, reflected in a plant that is continually pruned by her gardener. Similarly, Camila Kater uses a metaphor between female bodies and the stages of meat cooking to address challenging issues. Both works highlight the objectification of women, and as such, art resonates as a cry of experiences that go beyond fiction to deconstruct stereotypes, strengthening the disruption of patriarchal-rooted discourses. We have found that the analysis between Literature and Cinema can enhance and enrich the author-text-reader interaction, providing a better interpretation, understanding, and development of reading skills, as well as assisting in the maturation of critical thinking in the face of fictional and historical-social issues. Our theoretical framework is based on authors such as Cosson (2014), Silva (2021), Duarte (2002), Napolitano (2019), Tarin (2006), Beauvoir (2019), Perrot (2008), among others.
