COR NA ODONTOLOGIA RESTAURADORA MODERNA – Revisão de literatura
A seleção de cor e a aparência dos dentes são fenômenos complexos, que exigem preparo e domínio do cirurgião – dentista e do técnico em prótese que realiza os trabalhos laboratoriais como restaurações indiretas. Nesse momento qualquer interferência entre esses profissionais pode ocasionar em drástica diferença na tomada de cor e a interpretação pode ser altamente subjetiva e dependente de diversos fatores. A seleção da cor do dente artificial é um processo determinante para a aceitação do tratamento pelo paciente, pois a mídia exerce grande influência sobre a opinião da população, exibindo sorrisos extremamente brancos, o que interfere, muitas vezes, no padrão de estética/e ou beleza exigido pelos pacientes. O objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar através de uma revisão de literatura, os aspectos que determinam a cor de um elemento dental, que simplifiquem e que estabeleçam uma mesma comunicação entre o consultório e o laboratório de prótese, pois a incompatibilidade de cor de uma restauração com o dente natural pode não contentar tanto o dentista quanto o paciente, podendo levar à necessidade de substituição, o que demanda tempo e custo adicionais.

Abstract:
The selection of color and the appearance of the teeth are complex phenomena, requiring preparation and mastery of the dental surgeon and the prosthesis technician who performs laboratory work such as porcelain, contact lens and indirect restorations, at that time any interference between professionals may cause in a drastic difference in color taking, the interpretation can be highly subjective and dependent on several factors. The selection of the color of the artificial tooth is a determining process for acceptance of the treatment by the patient, since the media exerts great influence on the opinion of the population, exhibiting extremely white smiles, which often interferes with the aesthetic / beauty pattern which is required by the patients (MOLLO et al., 2000). The purpose of this study is to present, through the basis of the scientific literature, methods of color selections for dental use that simplify and establish the same communication between the dental office and the denture laboratory, as the color incompatibility of a direct restoration with the tooth natural and may not satisfy both the dentist and the patient, and may lead to the need for replacement, which requires additional time and cost to carry.
