Abstract: The use of alternative products to control insect pests has been presented as a strategy in integrated pest management, mainly because it reduces production costs and reduces damage to the environment, guaranteeing the quality of the fruits and the productivity of the orchard. Thus, the research aimed to evaluate the efficiency of alternative control of Orthezia praelonga and Capnodium sp. in Tahiti acid lime orchards. The experiment was carried out in an orchard in Canarana-MT. The treatments consisted of the application of alternative insecticides such as coconut soap, neem extract, cow's milk, Bordeaux mixture and a chemical insecticide (thiamethoxam + lambda-cyhalothrin). The number of mealybugs and the percentage of sooty mold in Tahiti acid lime leaves were evaluated, before applications, and at 7 and 14 days after application (DAA) of the alternative insecticides and the chemical. The experimental design used was completely randomized, with five treatments and four replications, where each plot was composed of a previously identified plant. At 7 DAA, it was observed that the Bordeaux mixture and the chemical control with thiamethoxam + lambda-cyhalothrin did not differ statistically from each other, leading to a reduction in mealybug populations on Tahiti acid lime leaves by more than 90%. Neem extract reduced the population by approximately 59%, and coconut soap and cow's milk by 43 and 35%, respectively. At 14 DAA, an increase in population was observed, however, at levels lower than those observed before application. In controlling sooty mold, at 7 and 14 DAA, coconut soap, neem extract and cow's milk demonstrated efficiency.
