Abstract: Soil Education plays a crucial role in raising environmental awareness and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources. However, the lack of simple methodologies that combine technical-scientific knowledge with empirical knowledge can compromise soil quality and the sustainability of agricultural practices in rural settlements. This study applied the participatory methodology of Rapid Soil Structure Diagnosis (DRES) in the Anita Garibaldi settlement, aiming to integrate traditional knowledge with scientific approaches to foster more sustainable agricultural practices. The methodology included visual and tactile observation of soil characteristics in selected points, along with the development of educational material to facilitate the application and understanding of the methodology by farmers. The results showed that, although settlers were already using visual methods, they expanded their perception of aspects such as soil structure, organic matter, and biological activity. Moreover, the educational material developed was considered clear and useful, enabling farmers to practically apply the concepts. This study highlights the potential of participatory methodologies and Soil Education as tools to strengthen sustainable management and agricultural resilience in rural communities.
