Abstract: The Comprehensive Child Health Care Program, developed by the Ministry of Health, represented a definitive milestone in the model of child health care. However, regarding intestinal parasitosis, this issue remains a significant public health problem, especially in regions with poor sanitation, primarily affecting school-aged children. In this context, ascariasis, caused by the helminth Ascaris lumbricoides, stands out, its transmission being associated with inadequate hygiene habits and the consumption of contaminated food and water. This study aimed to report the experience of an educational action focused on the prevention of this parasitosis in a school environment. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, carried out with students from the 3rd to the 5th grade of elementary school in a public school in the municipality of Santa Cruz/RN. The intervention used active and playful methodologies, including thematic stations, interactive dynamics, educational games, and practical demonstrations on food hygiene and parasite transmission. The results showed low prior knowledge of the subject among the students, but demonstrated a significant improvement in comprehension after the intervention, with success rates of 70%, 95%, and 90% among the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes, respectively. The use of playful strategies favored engagement, participation, and assimilation of the content, contributing to the construction of knowledge in a meaningful way. The discussion reinforces the importance of health education in the school environment as an effective tool in the prevention of parasitic diseases, highlighting the role of integrative methodologies in promoting healthy habits. It is concluded that educational actions of this type are fundamental for raising children's awareness and can contribute to reducing the incidence of enteroparasitosis, promoting prevention and health education within the school community.
