Abstract: The curricular internship is the moment when students on degree courses can put into practice all, or at least part, of the theory seen in the classroom. The aim of this study was to analyze the contributions made by the curricular internship to the professional training of students on the Biological Sciences degree course at IFPI. The subjects of the study were nine students who are studying for their seventh term in the Biological Sciences degree course at IFPI and ten students who have graduated from the course. In this study, two data collection instruments were used, the first of which was the application of two questionnaires and the other instrument used was a survey of institutional documents. The results revealed that the students believe that the internship provides a connection between theory and practice; professional and personal development; direct contact with the teaching profession and with experienced professionals in the field; and also makes it possible to decide whether or not to continue in the profession they initially chose. Therefore, the internship's contributions to IFPI Biology students are numerous. However, some points need to be improved, such as the lack of a sufficient number of supervising teachers to accompany all the students as they develop their teaching practice.
