Abstract: This article aims to contribute with relevant information from psychopedagogy regarding specific learning disorders, with a focus on dyslexia. It is well known that academic success in higher education depends on several factors, one of which is students' performance in their courses throughout their time at university. Psychopedagogy has been playing a key role in addressing specific learning disorders in higher education. This article emphasizes the particular challenges regarding dyslexia. Methodologically, a bibliographic review of books and academic articles was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of this learning difficulty, which currently affects many individuals across all levels of education in Brazil. The research highlights significant differences in the learning process. Students with dyslexia are capable of learning; however, they require continuous support from both the university and their families. Another important aspect is the implementation of curricular adaptations, which helps ensure that these students are not disadvantaged in their learning journey and are able to complete their academic programs successfully.
