CONTRIBUIÇÃO DO ENSINO EM ENGENHARIA DE PRODUÇÃO À ERRADICAÇÃO DA FOME
A discussão em torno de iniciativas para a erradicação da fome tem sido abordada, ainda que de forma tímida, dentro das Instituições de Ensino Superior. Atualmente o Brasil enfrenta o desafio em superar a dualidade em ser um dos países mais ricos em recursos naturais do mundo e ao mesmo tempo registrar elevados índices de fome e pobreza. Observa-se como missão de uma IES, prover uma educação de alta qualidade, formando líderes e profissionais capazes de responder às demandas do mundo globalizado e contribuir para o progresso socioambiental com espírito empreendedor e valores éticos. Dentro desta abordagem, o objetivo deste trabalho é descrever como o ensino em engenharia pode contribuir com a erradicação da fome em alinhamento com o objeto de desenvolvimento sustentável #2 previsto na Agenda 2030 da ONU. Para atingir ao objetivo proposto, realizou-se uma pesquisa teórico/conceitual a partir da arrecadação de alimentos na Semana da Engenharia proposta pela Coordenação do Curso de Engenharia de uma IES. Esta Semana de Engenharia disponibiliza aos discentes: palestras, minicursos, visitas técnicas e atividades práticas. Espera-se que as informações geradas a partir da realização deste trabalho, possam contribuir como um instrumento de incentivo para as políticas de erradicação da forme conforme previsto no objetivo #2 da Agenda 2030 da ONU. Sugere-se a replicação desta iniciativa de arrecadação de alimentos em outros eventos universitários para os outros cursos ofertados pela IES, bem como para outras instituições de ensino superior, públicas ou privadas.

Abstract:
The discussion related to initiatives to eradicate hunger has been approached, albeit in a timid way, within Higher Education Institutions. Currently, Brazil faces the challenge of overcoming the duality of being one of the country’s richest in natural resources in the world and at the same time registering high rates of hunger and poverty. It is observed that the mission of an HEI is to provide high quality education, forming leaders and professionals capable of responding to the demands of the globalized world and contributing to socio-environmental progress with an entrepreneurial spirit and ethical values. Within this approach, the aim of this paper is to describe how engineering education can contribute to the eradication of hunger in alignment with the sustainable development object # 2 foreseen in the UN Agenda 2030. To achieve the proposed objective, a theoretical / conceptual research was carried out from the collection of food during Engineering Week proposed by the Coordination of the Engineering Course from HEI. This Engineering Week offers to students: lectures, short courses, technical visits and practical activities. It is hoped that the information generated from the performance of this work, can contribute as an incentive instrument for the eradication policies of the form as foreseen in objective # 2 from UN Agenda 2030. It is suggested to replicate this food collection initiative in other university events for the other courses offered by HEI, as well as other institutions of higher education, public or private.
