CONHECIMENTO SOBRE INFECÇÕES SEXUALMENTE TRANSMISSÍVEIS DE DISCENTES DE INSTITUIÇÕES PÚBLICAS DE SANTARÉM, PARÁ, BRASIL
No Brasil estima-se que o número de casos de Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis (IST’s) entre a população sexualmente ativa, 15 a 49 anos, aumentou. Além disso, o Estado do Pará é o segundo estado do país com maior número de mortes causadas pelo HIV. Assim, ações que promovam a educação sexual são essenciais em instituições de ensino e unidades de saúde, uma vez que esclarecidas as formas de transmissão, identificação dos sintomas e formas de tratamento, os indivíduos podem se auto preservar por meio de medidas simples e eficazes. A presente pesquisa tem o objetivo de verificar o conhecimento de discentes de instituições públicas do município de Santarém-PA sobre as IST. O estudo caracteriza-se por ser do tipo descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado em duas instituições pública de ensino de Santarém-PA. A composição da pesquisa são alunos do Programa de Educação de Jovens e Adultos fundamental (EJA) e EJA Médio. O objeto de coleta para a avaliação de conhecimento foi um questionário adaptado do inquérito Conhecimento, Atitude e Prática desenvolvido pelo Ministério da Saúde. O estudo, foi compreendido por pessoas com idades entre 15-49, sendo que 53,33% eram do sexo masculino e 46,66% do sexo feminino. Sobre a busca de informações sobre as IST’s, apenas 48% pesquisaram sobre a temática e desses apenas 38% sararam as suas dúvidas, principalmente por meio de informações advindas da internet e televisão. Além disso, evidencia-se um escasso conhecimento dos jovens quanto a invulnerabilidade às infecções, acarretando exposições a IST. Diante do exposto, pôde-se salientar a importância da propagação de conhecimento sobre infecções sexualmente transmissíveis no público alvo, assim como foi possível o esclarecimento e desmistificação de dúvidas entre os discentes.

Abstract:
In Brazil, it is estimated that the number of STI cases among the sexually active population from the age of 15 until years old 49, has increased. By the way, the State of Pará is the second state in the country with the highest number of deaths caused by HIV. For this reason, actions promoting sex education are essential in educational institutions and health units, since way of contagion, identification of symptoms and forms of treatment are clarified, individuals can preserve themselves through simple and effective measures. This research aims to verify the knowledge of students from public institutions in the municipality of Santarém-PA, on the area of STI. This is a descriptive study, wich owns a quantitative approach, carried out in two public educational institutions in Santarém-PA. The research is composed of students from the fundamental Youth and Adult Education Program (EJA) and Middle EJA. The tool used used to measure the knowledge, was a questionnaire adapted from the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice survey developed by the Ministry of Health. The study was understood by people aged 15-49, with 53.33% being male and 46.66% were female. Regarding the search for information about STIs, only 48% researched the theme and of these, only 38% resolved their doubts, mainly through information from the internet and television. In such a way, it became clear, a poor knowledge from young people about invulnerability to infections, leading to exposure to STIs. All things considered, it was possible to emphasize the importance of spreading knowledge about sexually transmitted infections in the target audience, as well as clarifying and demystifying doubts among students, also in order to prevent early sexually transmitted diseases.
