Abstract: Dentistry has been closely associated with occupational hazards and the development of musculoskeletal disorders arising from clinical practice, jeopardizing the health of dental surgeons and potentially leading to career discontinuation. Knowledge of ergonomic guidelines and their applicability during dental clinical care is essential, as it enables the prevention of occupational diseases that directly affect the integrity of the dental surgeon. Thus, the choice of this topic stemmed from the significant relevance that ergonomic principles hold for the well-being of dental professionals. The objective of this study is to analyze the knowledge and practice of ergonomics among dental students. This review adopts a quantitative approach concerning knowledge related to ergonomics. Fifteen studies involving dental students worldwide were analyzed to ascertain whether knowledge has been disseminated throughout the course of their studies and the level of utilization of ergonomic principles by future dental surgeons entering the workforce.
