CONHECIMENTO E ATITUDES DOS ESTUDANTES DO INTERNATO DE MEDICINA SOBRE VENTILAÇÃO MECÂNICA
Avaliar o conhecimento sobre ventilação mecânica dos
estudantes do internato de medicina do Centro Universitário Metropolitano da
Amazônia (UNIFAMAZ). Método: Trata-se de Pesquisa transversal analítica
com 20 alunos, de ambos os sexos, de diversas idades, que responderam a um
questionário com 21 questões sobre o nível de conhecimento dos alunos sobre
ventilação mecânica. Foram utilizadas análises estatísticas descritivas, sendo
informados valores absolutos e relativos dos achados analisados. Foram
avaliados 20 alunos submetidos que responderam. Resultados: Os
participantes foram a maioria do sexo feminino 14 (70%), sem graduação anterior
15 (75%) e que cursavam o décimo segundo período da graduação, 11 (55%).
Dos alunos, 18 (90%) acreditaram não ter recebido informações suficientes para
gerenciar um paciente em ventilação mecânica e apenas 2 (10%) alunos afirmam
o contrário. Apenas 9 (45%) alunos afirmaram ter operado um ventilador
mecânico durante sua graduação e 11 (55%) nunca manusearam um ventilador
artificial nesse período, 18 (90%) referem ter dificuldades em executar a
ventilação mecânica e 2 (10%) não apresentam tais dificuldades. Conclusão:
Conclui-se que pela complexidade do manuseio do ventilador mecânico, que a
maioria dos estudantes abordados na pesquisa, não se sentem satisfeitos com
seu atual conhecimento e apresentam dificuldades a respeito dessa temática.

Abstract:
To evaluate the knowledge about mechanical ventilation of students
at the medical internship at Centro Universitário Metropolitano da Amazônia
(UNIFAMAZ). Method: This is a cross-sectional analytical survey with 20
students, of both sexes, of different ages, who answered a questionnaire with 21
questions about the students' level of knowledge about mechanical ventilation.
Descriptive statistical analyzes were used, with absolute and relative values of
the analyzed findings informed. Twenty submitted students who responded were
evaluated. Results: The participants were mostly female 14 (70%), with no
previous graduation 15 (75%) and who attended the twelfth period of graduation,
11 (55%). Of the students, 18 (90%) believed they had not received enough
information to manage a patient on mechanical ventilation and only 2 (10%)
students stated the opposite. Only 9 (45%) students claimed to have operated a
mechanical ventilator during their graduation and 11 (55%) never handled an
artificial ventilator during this period, 18 (90%) reported having difficulties in
performing mechanical ventilation and 2 (10%) did not present such difficulties.
Conclusion: It is concluded that due to the complexity of handling the mechanical
ventilator, that most students approached in the research, are not satisfied with
their current knowledge and have difficulties regarding this theme. -
