CONHECIMENTO DOS IDOSOS SOBRE POLIFARMACOTERAPIA EM UMA UNIDADE DE SAÚDE DO MUNICÍPIO DE ARACAJU/SE
A pesquisa teve como objetivo geral verificar o conhecimento dos
idosos sobre polifarmacoterapia. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa de campo, descritiva, exploratória, com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde no município de Aracaju/SE. Do total de 102 idosos, o sexo que predominou entre os entrevistados foi o feminino. Dentre as doenças referidas a mais prevalente foi à hipertensão arterial. A grande maioria dos idosos, 83,3%, referiu não conhecer o significado de polifarmacoterapia.
Percebeu-se assim, o pouco conhecimento dos idosos sobre polifarmacoterapia, sendo de grande valia a participação do enfermeiro, como profissional que atua diretamente nos cuidados do paciente, no processo educacional garantindo a total adesão e capacitação do paciente.

Abstract:
The general objective of this research was to verify the knowledge
of the elderly about polypharmacotherapy. This was a descriptive and exploratory Field research with a quantitative approach, developed in a Basic Health Unit in the city of Aracaju / SE. Of the 102 elderly, the predominant gender among the interviewees was female. Among the reported diseases, the most prevalent was hypertension. The vast majority ofthe elderly, 83.3%, reported not knowing the meaning of polypharmacotherapy. Thus, it was noticed the little knowledge of theeld erly about polypharmacotherapy, being of great value the participation of the nurse, as a professional that acts directly in the care of the patient, in the education al process ensuring the full adherence and training of the patient. -
