CONFLITOS LINGUÍSTICOS NO PARAGUAI. EMBATES ENTRE O JOPARÁ E AS LÍNGUAS OFICIAIS: CASTELHANO E GUARANI
Este estudo discute e problematiza a situação de embate linguístico e cultural no Paraguai e sua interface com a questão do desprestígio da língua jopará em relação às línguas oficiais, guarani e castelhano. A língua jopará é caracterizada pela mistura de guarani e castelhano e, certamente, é a de menor valor no espectro linguístico paraguaio (LUSTING, 1996). É empregada também na redação de matérias em jornais populares, nas quais parece haver a imitação da linguagem coloquial de falantes de castelhano como língua dominante (ZAJÍCOVÁ, 2009). Segundo essas concepções, com base na Sociolinguística e na Política Linguística, que compreendem o Paraguai enquanto ambiente multilíngue, e baseado em uma concepção de linguagem que critica a visão monoglóssica, neste artigo, busco entender, qualitativamente, portanto de forma parcial, as causas que incidem sobre a limitação de circulação do jopará aos contextos informais, tais como o Diario Popular, enquadrado na imprensa sensacionalista, marginalizada. Nessa ordem, quanto ao desprestígio do jopará, articulo-o ao contexto de ensino paraguaio que vislumbra a homogeneização cultural; à formação da Nação e às políticas linguísticas, que caminharam e seguem nessa mesma direção. Dessa forma, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, consulta ao referencial bibliográfico e aos dados advindos de outra investigação (SANTOS, 2012), apresento os resultados, provenientes da análise das definições e classificações da língua jopará, estabelecidas por pensadores e intelectuais, os conceitos dos estudantes paraguaios sobre o mesmo tema e a forma como esse fenômeno se materializa nas páginas do jornal Diario Popular. Este estudo se justifica por esclarecer e diminuir o estranhamento causado pelos contatos linguísticos no contexto em questão, contribuindo para a formação de professores, especialmente os que atuam em região de fronteira.

Abstract:
This study discusses and problematizes the situation of linguistic and cultural conflict in Paraguay and its interface with the question of the lack of prestige of the Jopará language in relation to the official languages, guarani and castelhano. jopará is characterized by a mixture of guarani and castelhano and is certainly the least valuable language in the Paraguayan linguistic spectrum (LUSTING, 1996). It is also used in the writing of articles in popular newspapers, in which, it seems to be an imitation of the colloquial language of castelhano speakers, as the dominant language (ZAJÍCOVÁ, 2009). According to these conceptions, based on Sociolinguistics and Linguistic Policy, which understand Paraguay as a multilingual environment, and based on a conception of language that criticizes the monoglossic view, in this article, I seek to understand, qualitatively, therefore partially, the active causes on limiting the circulation of jopará to informal contexts, such as Diario Popular, framed in the sensationalist, marginalized press. In that order, regarding the disrepute of jopará, the present estudy articulates it to: the context of Paraguayan education that envisions cultural homogenization; to the Nation constitution process, and to the linguistic policies, which have walked, and continue, in that same direction. In this way, through semi-structured interviews, consultation of the bibliographic reference and data from another investigation (SANTOS, 2012), this article presents the results, from the analysis of the definitions and classifications of the jopará language, established by intellectuals, the concepts of paraguayan students, about the same topic, and how this phenomenon materializes on the pages of the Diario Popular. This study is justified by clarifying and reducing the estrangement, caused by linguistic contacts in the context in question, contributing to the teachers work, especially those working in the border region.
