CONFLITOS INTERNOS: DESDOBRAMENTOS SOCIAIS NA CIDADE DE PIRANHAS/AL EM DETRIMENTO DA INTERVENÇÃO DA CHESF (1980/2000)
A presença da Chesf (Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco), na cidade de Piranhas, interior do estado de Alagoas, em meados do século XX, causou, por conta da construção de uma usina hidrelétrica, diversas mudanças no cotidiano da população local, inclusive com a chegada de dezenas de trabalhadores de outras localidades que se instalaram em Piranhas para trabalhar na construção da usina, assim como também na infraestrutura, geografia e, principalmente, na estrutura social da população da cidade. O presente artigo busca demonstrar, e também, entender as mudanças sociais que ocorreram pela intervenção da Chesf, além de mostrar como essas mudanças levaram a população à conflitos internos, baseados nas imposições da Companhia.

Abstract:
Chef’s presence (San Francisco Hydroeletric Company) in the city of Piranhas inland from the state of Alagoas, in the mid-nineteenth century, caused, due to the construction of a hydroelectric plant, several changes in the daily lives of the local population, including the arrival of dozens of workers from other locations who settled in Piranhas to work on the construction of the plant, as well as in infrastructure, geography and, mainly, in the social structure of the city's population. This article seeks to demonstrate, and also, understand the social changes that occurred through Chesf's intervention, in addition to showing how these changes led the population to internal conflicts, based on the Company's impositions.
