CONEXÕES ENTRE MERCADOS LEGAIS E O TRÁFICO INTERNACIONAL DE ANIMAIS SILVESTRES
Este artigo apresenta uma breve discussão sobre as conexões entre mercados legais e o tráfico internacional de animais silvestres. Através de revisão bibliográfica, discutem-se as estratégias pelas quais o comércio ilegal, logra a inserção de animais capturados na natureza, nas cadeias de suprimento de mercados legais. Conclui-se que a questão do tráfico da fauna silvestre representa uma ameaça para a biodiversidade e exige a adoção de medidas mais efetivas por parte dos órgão responsáveis pela gestão do recurso no Brasil. Ao mesmo tempo, a mudança no comportamento do consumidor, parece ter papel decisivo para a conservação do recurso faunístico.

Abstract:
This article presents a brief discussion of the connections between legal markets and international wildlife trafficking. Through a bibliographic review, the strategies by which the illegal trade, achieves the insertion of animals captured in nature, in the supply chains of legal markets, are discussed. It is concluded that the issue of wildlife trafficking represents a threat to biodiversity and requires the adoption of more effective measures by the bodies responsible for managing the resource in Brazil. At the same time, changes in consumer behavior seem to play a decisive role in conserving the faunal resource.
