CONDIÇÕES DE SAÚDE GERAL E BUCAL DE PACIENTES COM NECESSIDADES ESPECIAIS ATENDIDOS NA DISCIPLINA DE ODONTOPEDIATRIA EM UMA INSTITUIÇÃO FEDERAL DE ENSINO SUPERIOR
O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar as condições de saúde geral e bucal de pacientes com e sem necessidades especiais (PNE/PSNE) atendidos na disciplina de Odontopediatria em uma Instituição Federal de Ensino Superior. Este é um estudo caso-controle com dados secundários obtidos a partir de prontuários de pacientes de 04-12 anos atendidos por alunos de graduação no período 2015-2017. Dos prontuários válidos, 123 era de PNE, que foram pareados com prontuários de PSNEs de acordo com a idade e sexo. Os dados foram tabulados no software SPSS 21.0 e realizada análise descritiva e a comparativa pelo qui-quadrado (p<0,05). Foram obtidos os seguintes resultados para variáveis de saúde geral: hospitalização (PNE=70,2%, PSNE=36,6%; p=0,000); necessidade de tratamento médico (PNE=87,7%, PSNE=8,2%; p=0,000); alergias (PNE=46,3%, PSNE=39,8%; p=0,184) uso de medicamento (PNE=70,3%, PSNE=7,3%; p=0,000). Para variáveis de saúde bucal: queixa principal de dor (PNE=21,1%, PSNE=19,5%) e cárie dentária (PNE=15,4%, PSNE=20,3%); escovação 3x/dia (PNE=50,0%, PSNE=50,4%; p=0,842); uso do fio dental (PNE=34,8%, PSNE=35,8%; p=0,491); patologia bucal (PNE=11,1%, PSNE=17,5%; p=0,111); traumatismo dentoalveolar (PNE=28,2%, PSNE=34,4%; p=0,185); todos os dentes hígidos (PNE=40,7%, PSNE=30,1%; p=0,055). Concluiu-se que crianças com necessidades especiais, precisam mais de hospitalização, tratamento médico e uso de medicamentos quando comparadas com crianças sem necessidades especiais. Tanto as crianças com e sem necessidades especiais tiveram relatos de reações alérgicas. Com relação à saúde bucal elas são semelhantes e ambas requerem tratamento odontológico.

Abstract:
: The objective was to compare the general and oral health conditions of patients with and without special needs (PNE / PWNE) attended in the Pediatric Dentistry discipline at a Federal Institution of Higher Education. This is a case-control study with cross-sectional data obtained from medical records of patients aged 4-12 years seen in the period 2015-2017. Of the records, 123 were from PNE, which were paired with PSNEs records according to age and sex. Data were tabulated in the SPSS software 21.0 and performed a descriptive and the comparative analysis by chi-square (p<0.05). The following results were obtained for general health variables: hospitalization (PNE=70.2%, PSNE=36.6%; p=0.000); need for medical treatment (PNE=87.7%, PSNE=8.2%; p=0.000); allergies (PNE=46.3%, PSNE=39.8%; p=0.184) use of medication (PNE=70.3%, PSNE=7.3%; p=0.000). For oral health variables: main complaint of pain (PNE=21.1%, PSNE=19.5%) and dental caries (PNE=15.4%, PSNE=20.3%); brushing 3x/day (PNE=50.0%, PSNE=50.4%; p=0.842); flossing (PNE=34.8%, PSNE=35.8%; p=0.491); oral pathology (PNE=11.1%, PSNE=17.5%; p=0.111); dentoalveolar trauma (PNE=28.2%, PSNE=34.4%; p=0.185); all healthy teeth (PNE=40.7%, PSNE=30.1%; p=0.055). It was concluded that children with special needs, require more hospitalization, medical treatment and medication when compared to children without special needs. Both children with and without special needs had reports of allergic reactions. Regarding oral health, they are similar and both require dental treatment.
