Abstract: ABSTRACT: University governance has been a highlight in recent years in public administration and is related to the processes, systems, practices and procedures that govern institutions. This research aimed to verify which governance concepts are used in the literature for university governance. With this, a systematic review was carried out through simple search in two databases: CAPES Journal Portal and SPELL®, with the descriptor "university governance" which resulted in a final sample of eighteen articles. After the selection of publications, four categories were followed for data analysis with the use of the technique and from the reading of the articles. Notified ly, it was observed that there is a plurality of concepts present in the literature for university governance and there is a lack of consensus for a single definition among the authors.
