CONCEIÇÃO DAS CRIOULAS: MULHERES NEGRAS, HISTÓRIA E IDENTIDADE
O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a participação política das mulheres na construção da história e identidade étnica na comunidade quilombola de Conceição das Crioulas, localizada no município de Salgueiro, Sertão Central de Pernambuco. Para cumprimento de nosso objetivo, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, baseadas, principalmente em publicações acadêmicas realizadas sobre a comunidade e no Jornal Crioulas: a voz da resistência, editado pela própria comunidade. A análise desse material tem como fundamento os paradigmas da pesquisa qualitativa. Essa comunidade foi fundada do final do século XVIII para o início do século XIX por seis mulheres negras, possivelmente escravas fugitivas, que ficaram conhecidas como as “seis crioulas”. Essa singularidade histórica fez com que a comunidade ficasse conhecida como um lugar “mulheres fortes”, que ainda hoje lutam pela defesa de seus direitos.

Abstract:
The objective of this work is to analyze the political participation of women in the construction of history and ethnic identity in the quilombola community of Conceição das Crioulas, located in the municipality of Salgueiro, Sertão Central de Pernambuco. In order to fulfill our objective, we carried out a bibliographic and documentary research, based mainly on academic publications about the community and on the Jornal Crioulas: a voice of resistance, edited by the community itself. The analysis of this material is based on the paradigms of qualitative research. This community was founded from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century by six black women, possibly runaway slaves, who became known as the “six Creoles”. This historical singularity made the community known as a place of “strong women”, who still struggle to defend their rights today.
