• Abstract: This article investigates the historical evolution of the concept of sustainability, from its origins to the establishment of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It analyzes how this concept applies to the context of Quilombola communities, emphasizing their traditional practices of natural resource management, social organization, and cultural resilience. The study explores the relationship between Quilombola communities and the SDGs, identifying points of convergence, challenges, and opportunities. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of integrating the Quilombola perspective into the sustainability discourse, recognizing their knowledge and practices as valuable contributions to building a more sustainable future.
