Este artigo apresenta um estudo
sobre a comunidade negra rural e quilombola
do Maracujáem Conceição do Coité – Bahia,
localizada no Território do Sisal, em que tem
como objetivo diagnosticar os fatores que
influenciaram na organização socioespacial dos
negros quilombolas da comunidade, verificar
como o povo da comunidade se organiza no seu
espaço e avaliar a eficácia das políticas públicas
que são presentes na comunidade. É trabalhado
o conceito de espaço na perspectiva de Milton
Santos, para elencar a importância desse
conceito geográfico no estudo da comunidade.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo
em que foi realizado um trabalho de campo
para fazer uma leitura socioespacial através
da realidade enfrentada pela comunidade.
Diante dos dados coletados é perceptível que
a comunidade do Maracujá se utiliza da terra
como produto para sua subsistência, porém
enfrentam alguns entraves com relação a seca
e com a falta de água encanada.

Abstract:
This article presents a study about
the black and rural community of Maracujá
in Conceição do Coité-Bahia, located in the
Territory of Sisal, in which the objective is to
diagnose the factors that influenced the socio
- spatial organization of the community’s
black quilombolas, to verify how the people of
the community is organized in its space and
evaluate the effectiveness of the public policies
that are present in the community. The concept
of space is worked out in the perspective of
Milton Santos, to emphasize the importance
of this geographical concept in the study of
the community. It is a qualitativeresearch in
which a field work was carried out tomake
a socio-spatialreadingthroughthe reality
facedbythecommunity. In view of the data
collected, it is noticeable that the passion fruit
community uses land as a product for their
subsistence, but they face some obstacles in
relation to drought and lack of running water.
