Abstract: This study addresses the understanding of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatment by people with difficult-to-heal wounds, using gamification as an educational strategy. These wounds, such as venous ulcers, pressure sores, and diabetic foot ulcers, show a poor response to conventional treatments and significantly affect the quality of life of patients, especially the elderly and people with chronic diseases. HBOT stands out as an effective adjuvant therapy, based on the administration of pure oxygen in a pressurized environment, favoring tissue oxygenation, infection control, and healing. Despite the benefits, many patients have little knowledge about the treatment, which can hinder therapeutic adherence. In this context, health education becomes essential, but traditional methods do not always promote understanding. Thus, gamification emerges as an innovative alternative by using playful elements, such as challenges and rewards, to make learning more dynamic, interactive, and accessible. The narrative review identified a scarcity of studies on gamification applied to HBOT, highlighting the need for new educational approaches. In conclusion, gamification can strengthen patients' understanding, autonomy, and adherence to treatment, contributing to better clinical outcomes and quality of life.
